Synopsis

Royal Flush is a modern-day retelling of The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare with an introduction based on The Beautiful Scullery Maid by Miguel de Cervantes, both of whom died exactly 400 years ago when the play premiered.

Set in a recording studio, Royal Flush tells the story of two very different sisters, Kate and Bianca, whose father decides that Bianca can’t record her music until Kate has successfully launched her own album. Kate reluctantly agrees to work with the arrogant and bossy Petruchio so that her sister can achieve her ambition.

The play included live music, singing and dance.

“Despite these serious themes, the tone of the play is delightful, peppered with comic moments, and accompanied by music played by the multi-talented performers themselves.”
